PUBLIC-PRIVATE SECURITY INTERACTION: THE STRATEGIC ROLE OF THE PPP FOR COMBATING CYBER THREATS

The Union for Private Economic Enterprise hosted a Forum Discussion on:

“Interaction between Public and Private Security – The Strategic Role of Public – Private Partnership for Combating Cyber ​​Threats”, held on September 17, 2019 in Sofia.

The forum was opened by Mr. Boyko Borisov – Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria. The guests of the event were Mr. Mladen Marinov – Minister of the Interior, Mr. Ivaylo Ivanov – NSSI Governor and representatives of many institutions and organizations.

The panelists were Mrs. Mariana Nikolova – Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria and Chairman of the Cybersecurity Council, Mr. Stefan Balabanov – Deputy Minister of the Interior, Mr. Yavor Kolev – Head of the Department of Computer Crime at the State Security Service, Prof. Dr. Sc. Veselin Tselkov, Mr. Krasimir Simonski – Deputy Chairman of DAEU, Mr. Asaf Levy – Chief Technical Officer of INCYRT, Mr. Velizar Shalamanov – Deputy Director of the Institute of Information and Communication and Technology, prof. Ognian Nakov – Advisor to the Minister of Education, Dr. Georgi Sharkov – National Cybersecurity Coordinator and others.

As all panelists have reported, public-private partnerships in cybersecurity are of cruisual importance. Therefore, the Union for Private Economic Enterprise  in partnership with companies, organizations and agencies continues its work on developing a package of documents, focusing on education and training as a method of prevention, and will develop and propose innovative methods and approaches for public-private partnerships in cybersecurity.
